In a world that often seems rushed, divided and noisy and where older people can often feel marginalised, kindness is the quiet force that reminds us of our shared humanity
Kindness does not demand wealth, position or special skill. It can be as small as a smile for a stranger, a word of encouragement or a patient ear for a friend in need. Small things, yes, but they have the power to brighten a day, lift a heavy heart or even change a life
AGE CONCERN MARBELLA – SAN PEDRO are not just any group of people they have at their core a team of helpers who have practiced kindness every day for the past 7 years.
Every person is treated as an individual with kindness and respect where they need never feel alone. Just walk into any one of our 6 growing coffee mornings and soak up the friendly atmosphere
That atmosphere spills over into the regular monthly lunches and other events and activities, many held at the Community Centre in San Pedro. That same kindness can be seen at work in the two Care Homes where we have volunteers or where we visit people at home who are not able to come to coffee mornings. No body is excluded.
What is truly remarkable is that Kindness benefits both the giver AND the receiver. Science shows that it lowers stress, strengthens our relationships and builds our community because it is rooted in trust
In a world where the grand gesture seems to make the headlines it is really the the small everyday kindness shown by extra ordinary people that truly make a real difference
Kindness flows through all of us and as such is just looking for an outlet. Sparing a little of your time using a skill that you already have can turn ripples into waves
You can Call/WhatsApp us any weekday from 10 – 6 on 689 35 51 98 to find out more or drop in to any one of our coffee mornings. Our helpline staff will point you to the closest one to you
