On arrival in Spain in the late 90´s he opened a bar named after his son (Tommy ). After 3 years his declining health meant he had to sell the business.

Retirement did not sit easily with Steve who then took the opportunity to become a Founder member of Age Concern Fuengirola and held the post of Secretary for almost 10 years until he retired.

He wanted to continue offering his services to others supporting older expats and was invited to join Age Concern Marbella – San Pedro. As he says he is delighted to still be able to “make a difference.”
