The cost of a private care home in southern England is more like £8000 a month at present.
You need to have 2 Lasting Powers of Attorney, one for finances and one for health and welfare.
These LPA’s quite clearly state that whatever your attorney does with your money must be demonstrably to your benefit so there is less chance of unscrupulous people clearing out your funds. It’s therefore very important to get these done asap, in case you lose the capacity for making such decisions.
