Dear friends,
I would like you to be aware of a couple of important changes to the Committee of Age Concern Marbella y San Pedro.
It has been my pleasure and privilege to set up and be President of this great Branch for Age Concern. I am particularly proud of the dedicated team who are so willing and able in caring for the elderly in our Community. The strength of the Branch has prompted me to allow change to take place. In addition, my age and recent encounter with Covid have confirmed to me that the time for new leadership is now.
I am resigning as President with immediate effect and appointing Carol Woolnoth as acting President until it can be officially confirmed at our AGM.
Many have benefited by knowing Carol, and her many skills will ensure the continued growth and success of Age Concern on the Costa del Sol. I’m sure you will join with me in congratulating Carol and in wishing her every success.
I also want to take this opportunity to announce the resignation of Tony Bates as Treasurer of our Branch.Tony has been a great asset in keeping our finances in order since the Branch was opened.
Sadly, poor health has forced this resignation, but I know that you will join me in thanking Tony for his time as Treasurer and in wishing him a return to full good health. We are fortunate in having Susana Crepso as our new Treasurer. Susana is Spanish and a qualified Accountant, so we are in safe hands.
I will remain on the Committee and will continue to be of service in any way Carol and her team wish for the foreseeable future.
